I messed up my watch alarm, and we slept in, but were still able to hit the road by 7:30. It was probably also nice to get a little catch-up on sleep. Driving through Acapulco in the day is not much better than in the night. I was able to snap a bunch of photos as we tried to find our way out of town.

By 11:30 am, we were driving through Chilpancingo, the capitol of Gurrero. It was a much nicer city than Acapulco. We stopped on the road to pick up lunch, and tom and I got into a conversation with a drunken gentleman on american rock and roll. We told him we were going to Chilapa, and he told us it was too far, and not as beautiful of Chilpancingo. Despite his advice, we pressed onward, and had lunch in the mountains. We checked a stream in Chilapa, had no luck, and headed back to Chilpancingo.

On the road toward Iguala, we were going through some great desert habitat. We stopped at two sites near little towns, but again didn't find the fish we were looking for. We were running out of time, and needed to get the other fish for sure, so we had to hit the road. On our way back North, we passed through the town of Taxco, which seems to be a big mining town. It was basically built on the side of a mountain and was pretty damn amazing.

After a long drive on the Mexican Quota road, we at long last reached Morelia, the capital of Michochan. We got a nice hotel and were in bed by 12:30 am.
