A California Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula) observed eating a Common Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis) at a pond in Napa Co., CA. When I first arrived at the pond (around noon), the kingsnake had just swallowed the garter snake's head. About 90 minutes later it had completed its meal.
